Winter Solstice - Felting Workshop at Salem Art Space

Spend a day creating a wool painting to celebrate the winter solstice at Salem Art Space. We will start with a blank wool canvas, adding merino and hand-dyed local fibers to wet felt the scene. Once felted, details are added with needle felting to capture this vintage style piece with your own flair. Basic pattern and guidance with all materials and use of tools provided. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves for some vigorous handwork and manipulation during the wet felting phase. Conveniently located at Salem Four Corners, bring your own lunch or pick up takeout at Two Brothers located downstairs (there is also an elevator) from the studio. Class is limited to 6 students. Custom barn wood frame for the finished (approx 8x10) painting can be ordered from Ford Frames for $40, just send a Note to pre-order if you want it available for day of class.
